anxiety and fear into your mind. But mindful eating is just the beginning; it can also help
you become more mindful in other areas of your life.

Mindful Eating

The first way to have a mindful lifestyle is to be a mindful eater. You will begin by really
focusing on your senses and thoughts while eating, but over time, this will become a
natural part of your life. You might even find that you prefer eating without distractions
and just taking time to yourself to enjoy a good meal. It helps you to appreciate food so
much more, and look for more nutrient-dense foods that are enjoyable to eat, as
opposed to quick fixes like processed or convenience foods.

Mindful Exercise

You can also use mindfulness when it comes to your daily exercise, including what you
do for physical activity and how often. This means not always relying on a workout
program that is structured to tell you what exercises to do on which day, and instead let
your body lead the way.

The more mindful you are in your life, the more you can pay attention to little signs and
signals you get about what type of activity would be best on each day. One day, it might
heavy lifting, while the next day you might do yoga or want to go for a long walk.
Nothing is off limits, and nothing is forced.

Mindful Parenting

Are you a parent? Part of your mindful lifestyle might include parenting choices. Mindful
parenting also takes a lot of the rules and structure about how you parent your children,
and lets you choose the best strategies based on each child’s needs. Just because your
best friend did things one way, doesn’t mean you have to. It also means what worked
for your eldest child might not work for your youngest child.

Your self-care routine can also become more of a mindful one. Ever since self-care
became a buzz word, people have been stressed and overwhelmed about it. What is
the right routine? How often should you do it? What if you don’t like face masks? Being
more mindful about self-care allows you to actually benefit from it, relax, and have more
time to yourself without all the rules.
